Does what it’s supposed to do
A little cryptic setup at first but once you understand it, it’s quite simple. Very nicely done. You get what you pay for.
The program for the most part gives me what I need to go back and show my ISP how bad their service is. However, I’ll preface that with saying that the graphs and charts could be easier to read (both live and exported) and the program is a MASSIVE resource hog, which surprises me since all it’s really doing is monitoring connection speed by downloading files. If I’ve got more than one window going it can literally grind my system to a halt, and I’m running it on a brand new MacBook Pro! You will get MANY pinwheels with this program, so consider yourself warned. I’d also like to see some tests on latency.
Great Program, keeps your ISP honest !
This app is worth every penny. Proved to my ISP what lousy service they were providing during peak hours. Speeds from my ISP are better than ever.
My use case was trying to determine if my ISP was dropping connect daily. Took a fair bit of diggin around in the UI and repeatedly testing by disconnecting my ethernet cable until I figured out the optimal settings. The log file output is not easy to use.
I’m a computer guy and thought these other people just didn’t know what they were doing. I wanted to log bandwidth and track my internet outages. difficult app, hard to understand and pretty much useless for what it advertises. Maybe it does log “connection outages” but the UI and data is extremely difficult to interpret.
I bought this not knowing about the IT version I would rather have. No mention of the IT version anywhere here, not sure if I want to buy another version when they miss something like cross-polinating your own products. No upgrade from Pro to IT feature.
What an awesome app!
Just what I was hoping to find. I spent a career in networking and would have absolutely killed for something like this back then.
Excellent App and Developer
I got this app to help diagnose issues with my home networking, including WiFi, router, and ISP. For this work, it has been invaluable! I recently had a problem where it wouldn't launch; Lyle answered my email almost immediately with exactly what to do to resolve the issue. I couldn't be happier with this app, and heartily recommend it.

2 years later, still cant run only as a menu bar item
this app should be a background service. A menubar item. No need to keep an icon active in the dock. Developer said he would add that feature 2 years ago. Still not there.

Great network monitor app.
Does the job
Just keeping my ISP honest. Works fine. Had to hunt a bit to find where to turn off the verbal alerts that were waking me up at 3AM when my connection goes down (which I think should be in Preferences). Took off 1 star for the slightly odd UI but functionally it's a good app and quite comprehensive and I recommend it.
Works great, easy to understand
This app provides a lot of useful information about my network uptime and speed. It's been very useful in troubleshooting intermittent loss of connectivity. Really appreciate this app.
Finally Fixed My Connection!
I'm having intermittent outages that last only a minute or two with my Spectrum connection. Technician couldn't find anything wrong. But outages are interrupting Zoom calls and very important gaming ;) This little program is the only one I found that's easy to use and logs the outages. It's worth the $10 because when the cable guy came again, I showed him the log this app kept and he saw exactly how the connection was going out for a few minutes at a time. That allowed him to trace the problem and fix it. Yay! Another reason this is great is because it let me and my video callers know who was having the problem so everyone wasn't thinking it was them, not me. When the Zoom call started goig bad, and this little guy blinked red, I knew it was my connection, not theirs.
It wont download from the Apple App store
Ive tried for several hours to download this from the app store, I click download, it waites about a minute, then stops, never does download it. I paid for this, and would like to get what I paid for.
Great Monitoring tool and Support
This is a valuable network monitoring tool no matter how complex the net may be. The reason for 4 stars and not five is due to the fact that there was an issue with the Pro version crashing on launch (an issue I believe is due to a recent upgrade to Big Sur). I sent a e-mail to support and recieved a quick response with a work around and when I still had issues, I was sent the full IT version with a liscense key.
Great App backed by personal service/support!
I would recommend this app based solely on the amount of direct ownership, time and interest the developer put into it. That said, its a great and useful app in and of itself. I had an initial issue when I first downloaded it, but within minutes of emailing the developer he had reviewed the log and provided me with an immediate fix. It works great and well worth the cost.
Highly non-obvious user interface
You *WILL* need the user manual, and even then you will be confused. It is a remarkably obscure user interface. For example, create a new URL monitor, see it working, and close the window. Where did it go? (Answer: It's gone.) You have 27 options for choosing colore themes, but doing the simple things like just getting it to monitor a URL and log uptime and downtime and then be able to view the results is, well, increadibly obscure. Don't expect to receive normal notifications, don't expect to get an email notification (wiuthout paying $20 additional.) It does what it does very well, but I can't figure out what that is. If you are looing for a SIMPLE tool to monitor ISP uptime, save your $10 and move on top the next app. ----- Developer States: "This doesn't seem quite fair, if you are looking for a simple tool to monitor ISP uptime, this does that without any configuration at all, just launch it and outages start getting recorded in the Connection Outage Log. For more complex tasks, we have a series of 1-2 minute video tutorials available in the Help menu and on our Youtube channel. We have very few reports of users having difficulty and provide quick support to those who do." ----- My response: The user interface is nevertheless illogical, convoluted, and non-obvious. That the app can do something without having to be configurted does not negate a horrid, inconsistent UI.
Charts are difficult to read
I tried to export them to send to my IT person and the X axis was without labels other than the initial timestamp of the day. Clicking the chart inexplicably changes the bars. Just confusing and not polished. On the plus, it does announce outages.
Easy to install and use, and proved a faulty connection with my ISP
I bought this app because Cox Cable kept dropping the internet connection to my house. They kept denying the problems, and I needed a simple log to prove to them the problems existed. Once I showed them the logs, they were able to sort out whatever problems existed on their side, and since then I've had a stable internet connection. Sad that Cox couldn't figure that out on their own, but this app did the job I needed it to do. It's capable of more, but that's really all I needed it for, and it solved my problem, so I'm very happy with the results.

the polling is too sparse to capture the any outage that lasts less than ten seconds
Not worth the money
Very clunky interface with minimal customization capabilities. Reporting is basically non-existent. Once you add an SNMP interface you cannot delete it and it just fills up your windoow with info you do not want. You also coannot turn off reporting on your Mac's local NIC. If you could test it before you buy it, you could see if it is for you. Right now is was a waste of $10 for me.
New Version Exceeds 2GB Memory and Crashes
Using for years with constant updates. Now this version is bogging down macOS Catalina 10.5.4 without bug report. How do I revert to previous version free of whatever bug may be in this version?
Wonderful App work great
Thsi is a great piece of software. I've gotten to know the six technicians that work in my area because I call them so much. My net drops constantly, enough so that at one point they threatened me with a charge of $125 for a service call if they got here and my internet was working. Well, I spent money on this App and that changed the conversation with them completely. All I have to do is show them the logs and suddenly they admit they see the same drops in service that I have documented. My neighbors appreciate that I can take the fight to the ISP. Also, the App Developer is very responsive.
I only use elementry features
I've been using this application for about three weeks to find it helps to display downlink data and uplink data transfers of packets in Kbps and shows what devices are inline either on Ethernet or Router however, I cant see all the devices that I think should be showing, just UPnP Devices. Obvious Network outages are the prime logging event tool of this app with other uses of which I have not explored. For $10 my cost it serves basic. The real fancy software I would like is professional and too expensive for my limited use, so I get along with this simple functioning tool like this one. The URL monitor only shows my Router and One other device unknown while I know to have at least four other devices actively present ? Seen I am Persecuted by officials for many years now, I wish to see if any keylogging or Spyware is actively monitoring my personal information through the Modem, this is not a feature of this software.
Shows "Device Not Responding"
I set this up to monitor my ISP (Frontier.com) whci seems to drop out for minutes-to-hours at a time. The logger works ok to my router's admin interface, but when I give it a URL on the net all I get is "Device Not Responding". I am running macOS 10.14.6 on a 2012 MacBook Pro i7 with 500GB SSD.
Nice App
Works with a little learning and configuration but keeps a record of internet outages to my local computer.
Works great, but only while the computer is awake.
I can't track my service provider if outages happen while the computer is asleep. If they can manage that, then this would be five stars.

Network Logger Pro provides me with clear and accurate downtime reports, which is what I was looking for.
Works, but outbound network connections are a concern
The app functions okay as a monitor and logger. I’m not wild about the user interface, e.g., it seems I can’t position the window, but but the UI is tolerable. What really put me off, however, is that the Little Snitch network connection history and map for NLP revealed that it was making connections all over the world, many to locations I don’t trust (i.e., I consider more likely to be sources of malicious activity). It also raised concerns about the use of the connections: whether they were being used for simple testing or some undesired purpose. Consequently I blocked NLP in the firewall and shut off its connection testing function; I now use the app only for occasional continuous data rate monitoring. (I use other apps for ongoing network monitoring.) Perhaps these connections are innocuous, but I don’t wish to take chances with that.
Excellent Internet Monitoring
Prior to updating to the current Mac OS Apple included a diagnostic feature in the Airport Utility that I used to determine if I should call my ISP when signals is lost. Not embracing working in the "Dark" and depend on tech support "Script Readers" whose most frequent response was "We don't (can't) see a problem" followed by "Most likely you need a new router" (Who I never call before resetting my Airport Extreme® and POE to roof). I reviewed options to troubleshoot for myself. After repeated signal drops for 3 days after a recent storm I was told "We don't see....". Network Logger Pro® had excellent reviews so I purchased and downloaded. After monitoring my internet connection for another 24 hours the log showed signal drops ranging from a few seconds to several minutes and finally no signal as all. I checked cables for damage and tightness and I again reset Airport Extreme® and POE to radio on roof. I know the owner of the ISP so I emialed the log to him. His diagnostic showed he could see the Radio on my roof but not the Airport Extreme®. I reset my Airport Extreme® and the POE. No connection so I again physically checked connections including on not checked before the cable from the radio to the POE. The contacts in end connector of the cable between the POE and the roof radio appeared charred (Dark like burned). While disconnected I cleaned the contacts on the cable end with a brass brush. After resetting the Airport Extreme and the POE the signal was restored. I texted the owner what I discovered and he sent out a repairman the next day. After replacing the ends at the POE and the radio on the roof and replacing the POE (Contacts burned in it too)signal was restored. That was two days ago. It is my opinion, without the Network Logger Pro®, I would have been unsuccessful in determining the source of the signal loss and convincing the ISP I DID NOT have a defective Airport Extreme® I did email Network Logger Pro® tech support for assistance with minimizing the log window. I am impressed with the "possibilities" I read in the manual I downloaded and have watched in the easy to follow video tutorials offered on Youtube® readily accessed through the HELP tab at the top of the App's screen.
Essential App for Problem Networks
I have a home automation system in a remote location with Internet access by wireless broadband. Neither is 100% reliable due to the remote location. Network Logger Pro is an essential tool for identifying the source of the problem and having concrete data on the data rates and outages. Well worth the price.
Simple and powerful ...
Program does what it promises. Rare these days I know. I’ve been having speed issues with cox for a year now and finally proved to them that there were issues in the neighborhood. Couldn't have done it without Network Logger.
Inaccurate Outage Detection
This is a great start to a much needed tool. The tool needs better configuration options. Your outage detector is not functional on my slightly complicated (multiple routers) network. No options to correct the inability to detect these nuances. Please advise if in error. No config option for ACT? I think your on the right track to making a much needed tool please refine and update. It will be very popular. Thanks
Ugly, but works
It does the job without issue, to be certain — but for $10 it could really use a facelift so that it’s easier to look at.
Extremely useful data
Used this app to monitor uptime at my office (which kept having wifi issues) and at my house (which kept having ISP issues.) The data it collected helped me debug both issues and also kept me aware of when my connection was dropping. Recommend.
Does what it says
Got the app and had issue when it was down loaded with the App Store and contacted support and got answer right away. Corrected it and started the app and was able to set up to get info I wanted. Clearly worth the money. I am not that tech savy and found that I could operate without that much effort.
Great app, worth the $ for sure
I’m fairly technically savvy, but when it comes to networks I’m like a fish out of water. I get the basics, but running commands in terminal or fishing around for logs on my machine isn’t really ideal. I have been having issues with internet connectivity. I suspect it is the line coming into my house. Of course ISPs do not want this, so they will attempt to point the finger at any other possibility before they send a tech out. Not anymore! I plugged my box directly into the modem, fired up Network Logger Pro and went to bed. When I woke up it was like Christmas morning when I saw all of the outages. Each one was for around the same time; about 6 minutes. Made the call to my ISP this morning, they are coming out tomorrow to replace the line. My main point is this: If you are having internet connectivity problems, this $10 app will save you the hassle of having to run around in circles with your ISP. The logs don’t lie, and you can confidently tell your ISP what’s up. In terms of ease-of-use, sure there are some things I don’t fully get with the app (some of the terms used, technologies leveraged, etc) but I understand when my box speaks out something like “Internet Interruption Detected”. That I understand, and for my purpose that’s all I needed. As far as setup goes, there wasn’t really much to do. It just works.
Great App, Responsive Developer
On first glance the graph can be a little intimidating but the app is pretty much set it and forget it (until you have an outage, at which time you’ll probably want to consult the manual to learn how to export data to submit to your ISP, which is easier than it sounds). Really the only thing I’ve had to do is to select the desired network to monitor in the menubar and that takes all of one click. I mentioned to the developer that I would like to be able to set the smaller graph to monitor only one connection, as the shared connection to a PC in another room is of no concern to me, and he responded the very next day and said that he would add it to his to-do list. Very responsive. In the end, this app is far easier for the average user to track connection drops with than searching tedious log files, using professional network tools, or taking screenshots of Apple’s dropped connection graphics, and will hold more weight with your ISP than just complaining about your connection. And at a fraction of the price of other network tools to boot! I am very happy with Network Logger Pro and I kind of wish my connection problems would arise again just so I can set my ISP straight :)
very difficult to read the chart
I guess it works, but the data is very hard to read. the chart of access times i srather odd, and hard for me to read. maybe i’m slow, but the same type of chart using Server Ranger is much easier to read.
Just started using...
Doing this after limited use so may come back to update accordingly: So far, application seems to be doing what I wanted, which is record internet speeds so that I can report to my ISP when the connection slows down. I definitely agree with other users that the UI is pretty sad. I mean, it does not glitch but the look is less than desireable, ESPECIALLY to Mac users who value the Mac UI experience. I hope the developers used a design patten that decoupled the UI view from their backend, which does seem to be decent, so that they can use a different GUI library in the future. Even Qt graphs would be better on mac. The user guide seems to be substantial and what I have read so far has been helpful. It started working as I intended right away, even though I have multiple connections. This version seems to make it easier to switch which connection is monitored, which suggests that the devs are responding to feedback. If I don't report any problems in the next few days, consider this a 4 star. Edit 1: Devs, I just noticed that the lower graph on the main window seems to be an order of magnitude off in scale for Mbps. My graph shows a scale from 0-7 Mbps but I am getting 70Mbps. Thesmaller graph at the top IS correct scale. Should be an easy fix. Edit 2: Correction, I think that the lower graph just does not let you scale out farther than 10Mbps? I would greatly appreciate this being changed to at least 1 Gbps because that is the kind of speed I get at work and I would REALLY like to know when it is ONLY 800Mbps (lol). Whatever it is, something is appears wrong with the graph. Edit 3: The scale actually just reset to show the max speed. It took a second spike in speed before it adjusted scale. Perhaps scale is based on average and not min/max?
FIrst Interface
I too made the mistake of buying without reading these comments. I did download the test tool and got data via SNMP but not UPnP but thought I was good since I had SNMP. It still gives me a rough idea of what is going on but not what I was expecting which is the WAN interface on an ASUS RT-AC5300. Developer: You will see much more beefy routers coming to the home market given the new (lack of) privacy laws going into effect. More and more of us will be tunneling out and the ability to get to these other interfaces will be critical. Looking forward to the update.
SNMP monitor does not work
If your router has more than one interface then don't get this app. It selects the 1st interface only via the gui, which in my case shows 0/0 up/down speeds. You can manually configure the OID's to point to the correct place in the MIB, in my case ...16.2 and ...10.2 (instead of 16.1, 10.1) but it does not work. It still shows 0/0 up/down. Other SMP monitoring apps I have do not have this kind of obvious bug. I asked for a refund.

this app is superb. it allows me to prove all the doubts i had about the quality of service im receiving from my broadband company. it gives you indisputable record of the quality of connection you get over time. the app itself is very easy to use. well done and thanks!
Excellent program.
I was looking to diagnose dropped connections on someone else’s wireless network. Using this program, I was able to quickly identify that there was a problem only with the DNS and fix the problem in about ten minutes. It has a very clean, straightforward interface that quickly presents the information you need to gauge connection problems, especially if you have multiple connections. I emailed the creator of the program for information and he responded promptly and courteously. Happy to do business with Lyle.

Disappointing
Horrible, incomprehensible interface and opaque, incomplete user manual. Tried dozens of different URLs to monitor connectivity, always with the same result-“This URL is too fast for monitoring purposes”. Absolutely the worst app I have ever attempted to use.
